Burley’s Gardening

Fifteen years ago, Margaret and Bob Burley began landscaping their yard, unaware that they were also planting the roots for a booming nursery business. As they finished their private garden, they were overwhelmed by the number of people coming to take a look at their creation, people who even asked to purchases the garden sculptures they saw there. This led to the opening of Burley’s Gardening four years after that first planting, allowing the public who kept showing up at their back door more official access. Now, customers can stroll through two acres of garden and buy anything that they take a fancy to.

As their inception suggests, Burley’s Nurseries is not your typical garden store. The nurseries specialize in unusual annuals and perennials, so they are a great resource for specialty plants that are difficult to find. They are located at 2604 Television Road, in Peterborough. And if you are a visitor to Peterborough and just can’t leave the nursery, Burley’s also offers a charming suite that overlooks their gardens!
